Company description:: FEBRUARY 9, 2004— Julie Donner Andersen of Newmarket, Ontario was one of the top winners in an annual writing contest sponsored by Obadiah Press, a Christian publishing house located in Merrill, Wisconsin. Mrs. Donner Andersen’s entry was selected from close to 200 submissions that came from all over the world to be included in a new book entitled, Hope Lives On. The book will be released in early 2005 by Obadiah Press and is the second in a series of inspirational books based on Christian themes.
"We received a lot of wonderful entries into this year's contest, and it was quite a challenge to read them all in the 30-day timeframe we promised the entrants, but I had a great opportunity to read some wonderfully uplifting and inspirational stories of hope," says Tina L. Miller, Editor in Chief at Obadiah Press. "All of the top winning entries will be featured in a new book called Hope Lives On which will be released in 2005, and the winners are already getting very excited about being published!"
“I am thrilled to have had my essay chosen as a finalist, and to have it published by such an outstanding and respectable house such as Obadiah Press is also quite an honor,” says author Julie Donner Andersen. Her entry, entitled “The Valley Of the Shadow of Hope,” focused on how her previously widowed husband’s hope for their future - despite his loss - gave her the inspiration to embrace his late wife’s legacy of love. The essay is based on her popular book, “PAST: Perfect! PRESENT: Tense! Insights from One Woman’s Journey as the Wife of a Widower” (Writers Club Press 2003).
